Self Esteem and Praise for Children

This two hour parent workshop will address a common desire of all parents; raising confident, resilient children. We will explore the effects our parenting styles have on our children’s self esteem, acknowledging our child’s efforts with effective praise and communicating in a way that builds our relationships. What IS self esteem? Why is it important? How can I, as a parent, contribute to building healthy self esteem? Why doesn’t my child always respond positively to my praise? Is frequent praise building self esteem? Come join our group for a discussion about the most important and challenging job we have: parenting! Presented by Abby Bordner, the Director of The Birthing Tree Cooperative in Santa Fe.
