A friend mentioned that lavender and tea tree oil had a negative effect on baby boys.  I found this article – http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/31/health/webmd/main2419736.shtml

 So does this mean I should stop using products with lavender and tea tree oil on my baby boy?

Hi, Jackie.

Several studies have been published over the last few years on the endocrine disrupting effects of lavender and tea tree oils.  Products containing these oils have been linked to gynomastia (breast growth) in young boys.  At this point, it’s probably a good idea to follow the precautionary principle and avoid these oils in children.
